NH State Police picked up a NJ boomer doing 142 through their short section of 95 on his way home from Maine.
Rumor has it that when asked why he was going so fast he said, something to the extent of,
“it’s a track hawk, I was going back to New Jersey and just didn’t notice how fast I was going.”

LOL. Also has to be a track hawk. No way a trail hawk is gonna get that fast.

Trailhawks are limited to 118mph. I doubt they could do 140+ even without a limiter. They just have a Pentastar V6.

I got a speeding ticket in NH earlier this year, and it wasn’t too bad ($114 for 20 over). On the other hand, at 21 over (what I was actually clocked at according to the officer ) the penalty is $228, so I could imagine things get pretty unpleasant by 77 over.

Hero Sets New NH i95 SUV Speed Record at 142 MPH , Smiles For Photo
There we go, I fixed it. In all seriousness, he must be a nice guy, because at 142mph, he can probably outrun the chopper.

Well seeing how this was likely a trackhawk and not a trail hawk, and the police reported trailhawk, all the guy has to do in court is say, you’ve got the wrong guy, I drive a trackhawk. That’s how it works right ;). I can’t say I blame the guy though. We all like to see what the speed feels like on a good stretch of open road. I’ve done triple digits in mine a few times and it really isn’t dramatic at all. It’s a testament to how nice they build and engineer these vehicles nowadays. I know 110-115 in my 99 Dakota feels way more dramatic than a bit faster than that in my 09 S8. I imagine the Jeep would just be a bit more wind noise at that speed.
